I’m especially missing my two hedgehogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge tonight, so I thought I’d share some of their photos and stories with you all.
Theodore Part III
And now for Theodore Butters. After Quillson died I couldn’t picture my life without another hedgehog, so in December of 2005 I brought Theodore home. He was quite the little firecracker! I always called him my “grumpy butt” because he never liked to be held. He was an explorer and always wanted to just be let alone so he could smell and chew on everything! Pretty much everyone who met him thought he was a butthead because he didn’t like to be touched, but I knew it was just his way and loved him anyway.
He saw me through three homes - the house I lived in since I was 12 years old, then he flew on an airplane all the way to Virginia when my lover and I first moved in together, and then took a roadtrip with us from Virginia back to Texas to the home we live in now. He had a lot of adventures in his life, but his favorite place to curl up was always inside Daddy’s shoes. :)
He crossed the rainbow bridge when he was a little over five years old, so he lived a long and happy life. We aren’t sure what happened exactly, but it seems that he most likely had a stroke and while we hoped he would improve over time he didn’t, so we had to put him down on January 17, 2010.
He lived a long and very happy life and that he was loved beyond measure. I still miss his wet dark nose and how he was never afraid of anything! He wasn’t the type of hedgie to just cower into a ball - he wanted to kick the butt of whatever scared him! =D
Losing him was also hard, but I was comforted knowing that he lived much longer than Quillson and didn’t have a long, arduous decline like Quillson did. Theodore was a hell of a hedgie! <3

While browsing my Flickr albums I found this one of Theodore (RIP sweet man) and thought it was funny because Noel was licking her lips in the background.
