Throcky is not a fan of the hedgebaby.

I figured that I should expand a bit more on this photo because under most circumstances I do not recommend letting your dogs/cats hang out with your hedgies.  At least until they get to know one another, or unless your dog/cat is especially friendly.

My dog, Throckmorton, is the most passive dog ever.  He doesn’t even care when lizards outside (and once a cockroach, yuck!) crawl across his face.  He doesn’t chase after birds/bugs/other animals at all, and has never in his five years on earth been aggressive in the least bit. I had hedgehogs years before I got Throcky, so he’s been around them his entire life.  He doesn’t LIKE them, but he isn’t mean to them.  Generally, when the hedgie gets near him he just gets up and moves to the other side of the room/bed.  And snorts his distaste.  :)

So yeah, if you have other pets, be wary of having them around one another.  Both for the safety of your little ones, and for your own peace of mind.
